Try the brand new Apple shop in the shopping centre under the Louvre. You might have to queue, but they'll have one.

Hope your battery lasts long enough to read this!

Any FNAC store or Phillipe electrical supply or a quincaillerie.

I was going to suggest just pulling into BHV - they have everything one's heart desires!
Hope you get sorted Seafox. Let us know...

I think there's also an Apple store near Pompidou Centre, but that's just from seeing one while walking around the area in September. But all you need is a grounded to un-grounded converter plug (AKA three-prong to two-prong).

I was about to say BHV also.
Jeff, are you taking any cooking lessons this visit?

seafox:

I was thinking of Euro 3-pin to Euro 2-pin; what you need is US ground lifter adaptor *and* a US-Euro adaptor. Probably a travel supply store would have the best selection, as in the US -- something like BHV might, but probably NOT in the hardware department. Surely there's a chain like the US Mori chain where travel adaptors are sold.

Most Mac laptops come with an AC adaptor that has a power cord with a three-prong plug. If you detach the power cord, there is a place where you can attach a two-prong plug made specifically to fit the AC adaptor (my Mac came with one).

You can then just connect the European two-pin plug to the American two-prong plug.

imaginaryjazz, the adaptaors are indeed in the hardware department of BHV, with all of the electrical items.

If you go to the Mac store at the Louvre, you can save some money by buying the iPod/iPhone charging kit, plug connector and cable. It comes with the two-prong round plug connector you need for the Mac.
