I think you might be talking about the Maritime Museum?

Also in regard to photos I have found you need to actually use the insert photo function on the forum-when I have just tried to "cut and paste" on to my post it won't work and I have lost my post before trying to do that...

That above photo is not the maritime museum (which is excellent, you should have gone in), which is modern and around the other side of that intersection. That's the building across the street which is the customs admin building (the Administraction de Aduanas e Impuestos Especiales de Barcelona). It has govt flags over the doors.
