Mexico and Spain are nothing alike. Therefore they cannot be compared. You are a poophead. Go away. Go back to the backwoods where you belong.

Read Fodors yourself!! Barcelona is much more interesting and you won't get turista and you can't see Gaudi in Mexico. Maybe you should go to Mexico, on the other hand.

Hi Bruce, I apolige for the idiots here. My own preference would be Barcelons, but thats my own preference. I have not been to Juarez, but have to several other parts of Mexico. I have always enjoyed myself whereever I go, but the old world is much older. You'll find IMO more and better museums in Spain and the Gaudi Segrada Familia is not to be missed as is the Picasso Museum amount others. Just my opinion. Where ever you choose have a great trip.
yes and I'm answering it by telling you that you are a big idiot! Could you be any ruder? Why should we provide you with any intelligent answers when you obviously would not be able to understand them! And if it's such a simple travel question, you answer it you rude demanding freak!
Bruce,

I think the reason some are lashing out on you is for the fact that the wording of your question was so straight forward and blunt, and was perceived as rude. IMO, comparing Juarez, Mexico to Barcelona, Spain is like comparing apples to oranges. You're talking two complete different hemispheres, so therefore, it isn't a simple travel questions. Perhaps you might give a reason for why you are posting this question. Are you having to go to one of these cities for business purposes or are you arguing with a friend about it?

Dear Bruce:

I am native of Juarez, Mexico and now living in Los Angeles, CA. I found your questions very "rare" how in the world may you think that you want to Juarez, Mexico?. If you are the "classic American Citizen" (white and no spanish) may suggestion is to go to Barcelona where is a lot safer than Juarez. Now, if you are wild party animal and like alcohol, drugs, prostitution, and to be expose to very unsafe situations Juarez is your place. But believe me I am not kidding, Juarez is a very dangerous place for a tourist. Whereas Barcelona is very safe the crime is not to high and is very romantic. I have been in Barcelona three times and I am planning to be there again for Easter weekend. I have to admit that are not too many things to do for a long stay, but for three to four days there are plenty things to do. Also consider going to other places in Spain, like Madrid or Seville. These two cities are a lot of fun and have so many things to do to keep you busy for the whole month.
Also you can cruise "The Costa de Oro" which is also beautiful. Once again, DO NOT GO TO JUAREZ, unless you have somebody there to take you around the city. But if you brave enough plan to stay there for three or four days that will enough time to see the whole enchilada (that includes El Paso, TX) too. Good Luck

I went to Barcelona twice last year. It is a wonderful city. People are friendly, food is wonderful, climate (right on the Med) is excellent. Good museums, lots to do. Take the train to a little sea resort called Sitges and get the Paella at the Santa Maria on the Med. Rent a car and go to Rijoa and sample the excellent Spanish red wines. Barcelona is a modern city with great architecture and fashion while at the same time a very old city with a wonderful cathedral and plazas in the Barri Gotic. Juarez is a border town with a rough reputation. If you want culture and wonderful people and great food, go to Barcelona. If you want hot food, cheap beer, and tacky tourist gifts, go to Juarez.
