Help FAST

Hi all - After months on end of preparation Hurricane Irene is threatening my plans. Have finally gotten onto a flight out on Sat PM instead of original Sun (height of storm) but will not arrive into Rome until 4pm onSun. Original plans were to arrive at 10:30am Monday and take train to Venice where we have reservations. Since it will be so late and have no real place to stay in Venice for Sunday night thought my DD and I would stay near the train station in Rome and depart early for Venice on Monday morning. Know nothing about the train station area in Rome. does anyone have a suggestion for something that might be available for Sunday night near the station or vicinity.
I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions. Needless to say I am frantic and don't really know if we will even get out on Sat night. Best laid plans.
PLEASE HELP

Please check venere.com. You can put in your date and see available properties on a map. They will indicate if you can have instant confirmation.

It is only one night, so I would not panic about area.

I have stayed at Quirinale and Universo, although several years ago. Both are a block away from Termini in the less seedy direction (imho) and would look into them again if I wanted to stay in that area. At the time Universo was part of Best Western, maybe still.

Hotel Des Artistes is also in the area and a friend who stayed there with his daughter said it was a good place. Not very expensive. You can find it online. I would not worry about the area that much.

I don;t know where you're leaving from but I'm not sure what will be flying Sat afternoon - since so many flights from further south will have been cancelled and plans misplaced for their flights.
