HELP! Edinburgh B&B's late August

Somehow my original post disappeared, so I'm reposting....thanks for those who've responded so far...
Help, I'm going to Inverness, Scotland in August, but on the way I'm staying two days in Edinburgh and on the way home one day in Glasgow. I need the names of reasonable b&b's (under $100, I hope) and since I'm going to Edinburgh during the festival, I need to find one there fast. Prefer near town or no more than a ten minute bus ride to town, homey and cute vs. slick and modern. In Glasgow, I might have to stay in a hotel since I don't want to be too far from the airport--I've heard the West end is nice. Please no b&b listing websites....I'd like to hear from people about someplace they've actually been to (or know somene who has) and liked. Thanks! Kirsten

your other thread hasn't disappeared. Just click on your name and it will display both of your threads. The other one has a few answers . . . . . .

But do realize you will have problems finding a place during festival time at this late date and for only 2 nights.

I think saying you will have a "problem" finding accomodations in Edinburgh during the Festival is an understatement - from what I've heard, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to find a bed at this late date anywhere in or near the city then. You may have to rethink your plans.

Hi Kirsten,
Don't worry you'll find somewhere to stay, so long as your not fussy.
There are plenty of B&Bs and also Hotels in Edinburgh which are not in the city centre but only a 10 min bus drive away. Try seraching for places to stay in Corstorphine ( by the Zoo ) or in Stockbridge.
If you get stuck, let me know, as I have a few contacts.

Thanks all! I DID find a place (right on the beach, by the way), for 38 pounds a night. http://www.joppaturrets.demon.co.uk/
Most places recommended were booked, but I found a recommendation for this place by searching older newsgroup threads...And for $38 pounds a night
