Help Decide between 3 Rapallo/SML Hotels
I have three hotel options for our trip to Liguria for late August this year and can't decide. Hotel Delle Rose in Rapallo, La Locando di Colombo in SML, or Italia et Lido in Rapallo. The La Locando and Italia are 30Euros per night more than the Delle Rose - worth it? Better to be in SML?
I have read good things about all three hotels. Any advice?
We plan to take day trips to both Genoa and Cinque Terra, as well as enjoy the nearby areas.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

We stayed in Rapallo at the Hotel Europa and just loved the town. The hotel was nice as well.
<<Better to be in SML?>> Not sure what you mean by that but we visited SML a couple of times and it was nice as well. But we were happy we chose Rapallo and would do so again.

We stayed in Locanda di Colombo last July and were very satisfied with the accomodation; room had a pleasant airy feel to it with a nice bathroom. Staff were pleasant(English spoken) and breakfast was fine by Italian standards. Nice covered dining area outside; we had an evening meal there on one night - found it a little expensive for what was on offer.
We particularly liked SML, the town itself had a great holiday buzz to it, easy train access, some amazing churches.
We walked to both San Fruttuoso abbey and Portofino on separate days but both are reachable by ferry from SML. Used the train to visit Camogli.
Our one small gripe with the hotel was that they did not honour the offer of a discount, which was to apply on presenting Rick Steve's local guidebook to them.

We loved Rapallo - from there we took side trips to Portofino - you can get a boat in Rapallo and sail it - it is the best way to see Portofino. Santa Marguerita was nice and we loved the Cinque Terra. We took the train and got off in each town. We especially loved Vernazza. We had lunch at a restaurant called Gianni Franzi - it was right on the water and it was wonderful. There is a little town north of Rapallo called Comigli which we visited on our way out of Rapallo. It was small and lovely. Also there are some really cute shops around the train station in Rapallo. We stayed at the Excelisior Grand, I believe, and it was amazingly beautiful. Good luck and have a wonderful time!.

Sounds like a win-win situation! We have decided on the Hotel Delle Rose in Rapallo. It is in our budget and sounds very nice. (I can't do boats, sadly - get terribly seasick.)
I hear great things about Camogli and will definitely visit. (Same or differnet than Comigli?)
Thanks for the recommendations!
