HELP! Clothes for 4 days in Ireland
A friend and I are leaving on thursday for a four day trip. One day will be walking around Dublin and the other three will be in a car. Should I bring a raincoat with a heavy sweater or a winter jacket(toggle coat with hood) In either case I know I need an umbrella.TIA for any help.

I agree with MaryZ, layer you clothing. I did use gloves also--warm socks! I have carried an unbrella everytime I have gone and never used it. Just my hood on my jacket. You can carry a couple of those plastic rain pouches in your bag if you need to stay dry one day.(found at the dollar store)
Do the on/off bus tour of Dublin, a good way to see the main sites.

A couple of the weather websites are showing rain or scattered showers in Dublin from Thursday on through the rest of the 10 day forecast. They likely will not be downpours though.
Yes take something light but waterproof for the outerlayer. The rain will come and go.

I agree with those above. My siste-in-law is from Dublin. Lots of rain and overcast skies but rarely below 40F.
Layers and layers or treat yourself and get a Barbour coat while there. I will last you a lifetime and is perfect for that type weather.

is the Irish Meteorological Service homepage. Click on 'forecasts' on the menu and it will give you a 3-day forecast. You might be able to do that all the way to Thursday AM.
Instead of 'walking' around Dublin, why not do the hop-on, hop-off bus there?
