Help! 6 day Road trip from Oslo
Hello. My 2 teenagers, my husband and I are going to Oslo from august 8 to August 16, 2022. We are renting a car for a road trip. We love scenic routes.
We want to go to Bergen, Geiranger, TROLLSTIGEN, Nigardsbreen glacier, and some other Fiords. But I am having a really hard time planning our route. We have to reserve our accommodation ahead and I don't know If we could arrive on time. Need some advise and route suggestions.
TIA

You need to map out accomodation which comes in two forms, hotels or hutte (can be posh can be basic) then you also need to think how long do you want to drive each day and are you up for tunnel driving (some of these are very very long. Then any special places you want to visit for example
The troll road looks like a bit of marketing BS but is actually a seriously interesting structure, ferries consume a fair bit of time (waiting and being on them) so factor that in as well.
I did a similar if longer trip in an open top sports car and wee found the best bits were the times on the open road and whenever we got out of the car and went walking. Most of the tourist spots were pretty dull (very little competition) and or very dull. The ship museums in Oslo are one of the few great visits. But the sight of multiple waterfalls, going walking with a flock, staying over in hutte, going for an evening stroll at 11pm in the daylight are memories.
We also liked visiting a water power station but we are engineers so that may not count, equally the staff liked showing us around as they get very few visitors

You might look at this website. https://norway.nordicvisitor.com/ Even if you don't book one of their self-drive itineraries they show maps and details that might be helpful to your plans as to locations and driving distances.
