Heathrow to Stansted airport
I fly into Heathrow on B.A. arriving at 8.15am on 12 July and need to catch a connecting Ryanair flight to Trieste departing Stansted at 11.35am. Will this give me enough time to get through customs and transfer to Stansted in time to book in for Ryanair. What is the quickest mode of transport apart from taxi. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Transport Direct (www.transportdirect.info) suggests a journey time of about one hour 45 minutes, either by train/tube/train, or by car.

Where will you be arriving from? From the US? If you need to go thru immigration and customs and have checked luggage, I doubt you can make the connection.
You need to be checked-in at least 40 minutes before your Ryanair flight, so you need to be there by 10:55am (that's assuming you don't have to wait in line to check in). Transferring from Heathrow to Stansted takes 90 minutes. There is a National Express coach which leaves Heathrow at 9:10am and gets you to Stansted at 10:35am.
The chance of you being able to get to the coach station at Heathrow at 9:10am (with a 8:15am arrival, + immigration + customs) - close to 0%.

I am flying from Australia if that hopefully makes any difference.
I need to be in Rijeka early on the morning of the 13th July to get my bike tour. When I booked the tour Easyjet had a flight from London direct to Rijeka which was perfect. It now appears that they have cancelled that route. If you or anyone else knows a way of getting there I would be most grateful.

croatia airlines fly from Heathrow to Rijeka.
Who are you flying with from Oz? You might be better changing that flight to another destination with better links to Croatia. If your ticket is flexible enough.
Otherwise can you change the day and arrive a day earlier?

I have flown into Heathrow about 5 times. Everytime, we land late, because Heathrow puts us in a holding pattern because its busy. Then it takes 30 minutes after landing to get off the plane (because gates are so far from landing strips), 5 minutes to walk to customs, 5-15 to get through customs, then you will have to claim luggage and find the bus to other airport. Might I also mention everytime I fly from the US to Heathrow we leave late because there are so many people on a 777 that it takes forever to board. This is all my experiences and opinions but I don't think a 11:35 flight is possible!!! Good luck!

Arriving from Australia on BA doesn't help at all. Chances are you'll arrive in the new T5, and I don't know if (by July) the National Express bus will stop at T5 or not. If it doesn't, you'll need to get yourself from T5 to the central bus station to board the National Express bus.
Plus, flying from Australia will require you to go thru immigration and customs. The immigration line can be an hour's wait, esp in AM when lots of US flights arrive.
My only suggestion would be purchase a later Ryanair flight out of Stansted; or see if any other airline serves that route out of Heathrow.

Thanks for all your responses depressing as they were. I may have to go to plan B and get the 5.10pm Ryanair flight from Stansted to Zadar and then hire a car to drive to Rijeka. I may also look at flying into Heathrow a day earlier although this will probably cost me more points...ah decisions decisions!!
