Have you used the Salzburg Card?
I am reading about a "pass" called the Salzburg Card on the internet. It advertises two and three night hotel stays and includes transportation in the city and free admission into sites. Is anyone familiar with this? Thank you.

I've recently looked into it. It is sold by hotels (and in other locations), but I don't believe it includes a hotel stay. It does provide free admission on all public transportation and free admission to almost all of the museums and sights in the city. I was adding up costs and you probably need to visit several sights for it to pay off.

Here is the official website:

I suppose it would help in determining if the card is a moneysaver if anyone knew how much each bus ticket costs

My mother and I looked into it, but I think we came out ahead by buying a weekly bus pass for about 11 euros (each) for our 6 day trip rather than getting the Salzburg cards. It depends on how many museums you plan to see...we didn't do that many in Salzburg itself.

I used this card in 1998. We thought it was worthwhile because there were several places we probably would have missed, but when we saw that it's free w/the Salzburg card, we said "what the heck, let's do this." Later we were glad we did.
Additionally, our hotel was a couple of miles away from the city center, so it was nice to have free bus rides.
