Have you flown Vueling Air from Venice to Barcelona recently?

I have had a ticket for a long time from Venice to Barcelona on Oct. 2. At first I was a little worried about Marco Polo, but having read quite a few horror stories about Vueling, now I'm worried about them--seems they stranded a 100-person Italian orchestra flying to Barcelona from Florence without their luggage. Their luggage was apparently not even loaded on the plane at Florence Airport!

Anyway, I'm looking for a little reassurance form anybody who's flown this route recently. I have the 1 p.m. flight on Vueling from Marco Polo to Barcelona El Prat.

Thanks!!!

But when you read the whole story and the comments this is a one off and the tour company should never have used a low cost airline for such an occasion.

All rather stupid if you ask me.

What does the ROUTE have to do with it? I've used Vueling just this past July and the flight was fine. You are worried over nothing IMO.

I read several websites calling Vueling the worst airline anywhere--they have virtually no customer service and are reported to have disdain for their customers' problems with flight delays, etc. The routes on these posts did seem to matter--lots of problems from Florence and Barcelona, for example. Cardiff, on the other hand, seemed to be a good place to travel from on Vueling. Oh well, happy travelers are not the ones posting on the internet...

I don´t blame you for being somewhat concerned but most likely your flight will be just fine. I wouldn´t fret about it. I hadn´t heard about that entire orchestra mishap. What a mess.

I wouldn´t think twice about a fight with them anywhere The times i have flown them it has been fine.

Flight turned out fine. Everything went well in Venice. Thumbs up for Vueling.

Just flew vueling tonight from florence to barcelona and thought I would let you know my experience. I was very worried about luggage being more than 23k but came in way under. Check in was fine, no one checked the carry on or weighed and measured it as mentioned on tripadviser. Flight was full and luggage storage was tight in the overhead bins but all got on

Flight crew very pleasant

Plane clean, plenty of leg room , more than on other low coast airlines
On time and baggage arrived in one piece. What more can you ask for?

I flew Vueling (pronounced "vway ling", since it's Spanish) from PMO to BCN in 2011. It was fine. The ticket agent in PMO even moved my traveling companions into the exit row with me. I had pre-paid for the exit row and they got the exit row for free...

The only negatives were (1) the seats were rather thin and uncomfortable, but bearable for a 90-minute flight, and (2) having to deplane in BCN at a hardstand and having to take the bus instead of a jetbridge.

Would I use them again? Probably. Am I in any hurry to? No. Overall grade of a B.

I booked us on Iberia BCN to Florence and it is "operated by Vueling"; keeping fingers crossed for a decent flight.

Check www.airlinequality.com for airline reviews. All airlines are going to get mixed reviews, including full service airlines. I've only flown with them once (Venice to Barcelona) and it was a while ago - no problems.

I'm the original poster. My flight turned out fine. The seats are a little thin but for a couple of hours no problem. Plane was on time, flight attendants pleasant. I think, however, you pay for everything--even a bottle of water. But I wouldn't worry, based on my experience, Vueling is a perfectly decent airline. (Iberia and Vueling are both owned by the parent company of British Air now, FWIW.)
