Barcelona to Venezia

I know there is a ferry from Barcelona to Genova but can I then catch a train to Venezia? What about flying? Which airport (airport code please) is closest to Venezia? Is train out of the question?

Help, please - thanks.

According to www.whichbudget.com, Spanair, Air Berlin, and Vueling all fly from Barcelona to Venice. I would think flying much the best option unless you have unlimited time. Both the boat to Genoa/train or train only would take a long time.

For budget flights within Europe, check www.whichbudget.com. One budget airline that flies from Barcelona to Venice is Vueling, www.vueling.com. The airport code for Venice is VCE.

You could certainly take train from Barcelona to Venice, but it will take 4-5 changes and more than 20 hours. The easier way is flying, please check: www.spanair.com from BCN to VCE.

It will not take "four or five" changes for a train..you can take the Trenhotel NIGHT train from Barcelona to Milan and change ONCE there for a Eurostar to Venice.

I've done that trip and frankly, with not a lot of time and few luggage restrictions I think I would consider flying.
