Have you been to Lourmarin in Provence
Have any of you visited or stayed in Lourmarin, France?
We've been to Provence many times, but missed this town. Now it's been suggested to us, but I don't have much info on it.
Merci!

We have stopped there for lunch for many years. One of my favorite shops is there, Coté Bastide. Camus lived there and is buried in the cemetary. There's the 16th century chateau which often has musical events and owned by the Academie of Aix. There's an 18oo Protestant church The Belfry Dominates the town, and I read that it dates from the 1700s. The houses are all huddled together. Wish I were there now.

Lourmarin is one of our favorite places. The market, which is on Friday, is a very traditional one with great energy and offerings. The setting is very scenic and we have always used the morning visit as a jump off point for a special luncheon.
The last couple of times we were there, I struck up a friendship with an author--Jamie Ivey-- who wrote "Extremely Pale Rose". We compared notes and rose offerings. I would seriously consider staying in the town on a future visit. Paul

Hi - Urgent request to Stu Dudley -
You had been kind enough to send me itineraries for Provence, Bretagne, (Paris?) which I had downloaded to my computer before we left for France. Unfortunately, in the last-minute rush, they did not get copied over to this laptop, so I would so much appreciate it if you could resend to me ([email protected]) either in pdf or txt format - cannot access .doc at all. I am sorry to bother you, but I am really desperate - your info was so great! BTW - Paris is beautiful today - warm and sunny. Merci beaucoup!
