By definition, the mistress is usually single and financed by the man.
Amy Fisher WAS NOT a mistress but a girl-toy for (ugh) Joey.

P.S. As I recall, the only gift from him was his tacky t-shirt advertising his business.

Dave, I'm starting to look at you in a whole new way.

What kind of wine would you serve with that duck?

Gee, Nikki, a thought, do you suppose he thinks we looked at him that way?

Cigale, Nikki, both of you ladies are married. You'd definitely fall into the "looking for a boy toy" category!

Definitely a shiraz with the duck...

indy, like fine wine, you have greatly improved with age. Now you are a much sought after commodity. Enjoy your new social status, but be nimble and quick!

I can't believe I read all this.

You've all missed the obvious: gigolo / gigola

This is an hysterical thread -- it should be made into a book. Any takers? It would be a best seller - I don't think there are any definitive works out there on the correct classifications of gigolo/gigola!

Textbook definition. Mistress. A female being supported by a male in a non-marriage arrangement. The male usually demands exclusivity. Newspapers, magazines and websites are rife with interesting offers. What's rhe difference between the lady on the corner and the one being offered by a marriage broker?

Thanks for the words of encouragement Degas.

Now instead of thinking "middle age spread" and "receding hair line" I'll have to say to myself in the mirror "fine wine..."

Female version?

Since when did we men learn to say no - and live to tell about it?

Indy, I'm taking formal "comb over" classes at North Georgia Farmer's Community College. Technique is evertyhing. Its all in the proper wrist movement.

Black spray paint, when done in moderation, is also a great equalizer.

I thought the definition of a mistress was that which comes between a master and a matress.

degas,
You must be looking at our home state for role models!
As David and I can both appreciate ( as Purdue grads), Gene Keady is the poster boy for both of those techniques:
the combover, and what appears to be black spray paint!

I'd rather a bald head on a man than that silly comb across or that squirrel tail ala Trump!

Marcy_ is right. Gene needs some help.

The only coach worse was Lou somebody at the University of Illinois for several years. They even named it the "Lou do".

Back to my gardening since it's a lovely day out.
