I will be in Brienz area late September.
I already have hikes sorted out/thoroughly researched (praying for good weather):
~Maennlichen--> KS
~First--> Bachalpsee
~Iseltwald-->Giessbachfaelle.
These are written in stone.
I am looking for a 2-3 hour easy hike from Meiringen/Hasliberg/Axalp area ONLY.
I have a fear of OPEN heights/ledges, so am considering :
-Axalp---Schnittlerweg
-Hasliberg/Reuti ---Bruenigpass (via Hohfluh)
-Hasliberg/Bidmi down to Reuti
-Hasliberg/Goldern---Meiringen
??Maegisalp/Planplatten

Not a lot to be found about hikes in THIS area. All is recall is going on a "3-lakes hike" 30 years ago, and having to turn back at the END, because it entailed a 22 inch ledge to traverse.
Hoping to avoid this!
Yes, I have already seen Aareschlucht/Reichenbach Falls and Sherlock museum.
Just looking for a greener mid-level hike which fits the bill.

I would probably do (Brienz - Brünig by train, to Twing by bus, then gondola) - Käserstatt - Mägisalp - Reuti (cable car down to Meiringen, train to Brienz)

While I can see the hikes listed, I don't get a feel for which might be UNDERWHELMING and "not worth it", and which might have exposed heights.
I am watching anything available on YouTube hikes as well!

he hiking possibililties in the Haslital area (Brunig Pass up to Grimselsee, Oberaarsee and Totensee) are endless.
But I confess that it may be a bit more difficult to find easy 2-3 hrs walks.
Brunig - Hohfkluh - Halti - Bidmi is easy
Maegisalp - Kaeserstatt - Hääggen - Alpen Tower (Planplatten) would be a bit more challenging
A hike from Engstlensee bus stop via Tannensee to Melchsee and back by public transport via Sarnen might be a idea to
Or what about a hike from Grimselpass bus stop along the road to Chessiturm and then on the hiking trail up to Lake Trübtenseee and Hotel Oberaar (back to Grimsel Hospiz bus stop by gondola)?
Or a hike from Handegg us stop via Kunznwetaennlen to Lake Gelmersee and back to Handegg by rope railway?

Yes, absolutely. Via wide open pastures or woods, no cliffs or such challenges along the way. Käserstatt - Maegisalp e.g. is also groomed in winter and bike trail in summer, too. Maegisalp - Reuti is "Zwergen" (Dwarf) -trail for children - safe.
