Has anyone flown AF from Phila. to Paris lately?
I can't tell from the website whether or not Fl. 365 still server dinner. It doesn't leave PHL until 8pm. Anyone taken this route in the last few months?

I would think they will serve dinner. I've flown AF from Atlanta to Paris on a 10 PM flight and they still served a full dinner. Started with champagne and snacks, then we were given a printed menu with 3 choices of entrees, red or white wine, and the stewards came around with baskets of fresh baguettes. Gotta love it!

I flew AF Philadelphia to Paris (on my way to India) in the summer, and they did keep coming 'round with food, it seemed...but I'm not much help with that, because I never eat on planes! I will say that the prosciutto and mozzarella platter at Terminal E in CDG is the best airPORT food I've ever had.

I always fly AirFrance out of Philadelphia. Unlike our chapter 11 airlines, yes they always serve a full meal that is actually edible and generally quite good airline food, complimentary champagne and wine as commented above, service with class and elegance. If you have never flown with them you are sure to notice a difference!

I have flown them before and always look forward to the meal! Since so many other airlines are cutting back, I was worried about not getting my champagne and petit baguette (and if I should bring other provisions).

Every major airline flying non-stop from the US to the UK and Continental Europe in the afternoon/evening will serve dinner after departure and then breakfast before arrival.
No need to look further, no need to call anyone.
And I don't know which "our chapter 11 airlines" that LouGari was talking about. No US-based major airline flying between US and Europe is in Ch 11 right now, and even when UA, US, DL and NW were in Ch 11, they all served complimentary food on US-Europe flights.
I also don't know what Amy was referring to, when she said they "did keep coming 'round with food". Well, not in coach, for sure.
BTW, I'm not against AF or anything. I've flown them US-Europe, and I totally agree that their food is better than I've had on US airlines. No question about that. But some of the stuff being said here just need some clarification.

Let me clarify for you, then: "they did keep coming 'round with food, it SEEMED" simply means that they brought a meal, they brought the bread, they brought the drinks, they brought something snacky, they brought breakfast... I was just indicating that there was certainly food being served more than once, but I didn't know exactly what as I don't, as I also said, tend to eat on planes; I sleep. Let's just say it was way more food than I need in an eight hour span, particularly through the night.

Okay, I see what Amy is saying. The protocol of service is often different between US and international airlines. On US airlines, your bread is in the tray, and they give you your beverage right after they hand you the meal. They will ask you one more time about beverage just before or when they take your tray away and that's it.
On international airlines, like Amy says, they often bring the bread separately. And they tend to have one flight attendant holding a pot of coffee, another one holding a pot of tea (in Asia often yet another holding Chinese/green tea). And they may come around more than twice. And they'll come around with complimentary red/white wine. [Most US airlines charge for alcoholic drinks for US-Europe.]
So, it's true that you'll see more FA holding things coming around many more times on such airlines, compared to US ones. For most people, that does give an impression of better service. [And again, I totally agree that food quality is better on AF than on all US airlines I've flown on.]
BUT, a few people may find all that service takes up a bit too much time. For a short US->Europe late night flight, some just wants their food served, quickly eat their meal, and then go to sleep. In that way, the quick service (or "lack of service") of a US airline may actually be a plus.
