Hi, I'm back.
I just got off the phone with Delta, and the agent said they couldn't guarantee that all three seats would be together, so I'd be taking my chances. I asked about trading in my FF ticket for a full price coach and upgrading with my miles, but she said the ATL-MXP and VCE-ATL sections of the flights weren't upgradable anyway.
I just looked at the seat maps, and with 25 days to go (still can't believe it's so close, I booked my ticket back in September!), the planes aren't full. With some luck, there will be room to stretch out, anyway. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks to everyone for your input.
