Has anyone ever admitted to being a troll?

"Troll" has such a negative connotation. I think that the best troll posts are some of the most entertaining and funny.
Like everything else in life it's really hard to do correctly. Too many people want to do the stupid, cheap-shot troll. Hmmm, Americans are fat, Europeans smoke, hairy armpits. Yawn, yawn, yawn. But the original, creative troll? Priceless.
I don't troll post per se, but I do have an alter ego. Hard to track down though, most of the threads I alter-ego on get deleted pretty quickly.

Here's the troll post Ryan was talking about earlier - definitely worth a read!

I just read that thread that was linked higher up - the cattle drive one. lol. I have to wonder how many of those were "troll" respondants though too.
This line from an outraged fan cracked me up...
"because that dehumanizes the pig!"

OK, snifter of Grand Marnier in hand and free associating. Anyone seen the cartoon "Triplets of Belleville"? The old French triplets eating nothing but frogs, boiled, baked, iced, is incredibly funny.

Ryan, the "Donner" family ranch almost made me spit out my wine. I would have known at that it was trollish. But I can't believe how many people took it seriously! Not only is this a funny thread, but it is a viciously funny thread -- in the way things were pre-registration. I gotta get me an alter ego on here, just for that special occasion when I'm feeling snappish. Grrrrrr...
Sue: no, no, Brer Fox, not the sunlamp!
For the ultimate troll of all-time, take a look at the Lazlo Toth letters written by Don Novello (better known as Father Guido Sarducci). It doesn't get any funnier than that.

My kids LOVED the triplets of Belleville, maybe because they've got some pretty good inside info on the French from all those years traveling in France.
As for Degas, I never thought he was a troll and always enjoyed his posts.
That cattle slaughter post was absolutely hilarious, though! And if Ryan was also playing the part of PETA Kimberley, it was brilliant!

I have used these boards for years and yes, some of the troll posts can be hilarious. I personally have never been a troll but was once accused of it when describing a very difficult family/vacation dilemma, where I began to share more and more of the dysfunction involved in the family. Initially, I was hurt to be accused of actually making up such a story. But, hey sometimes truth indeed can be stranger than fiction. I got over it and laughed it off. I probably wouldn't have believed it myself if I had a "normal" family. Whatever, that is...
