Harry Potter Tours in UK

Hi all,

planning a trip to the UK next year and have a question for you Harry Potter fans:

From what I can tell, there are three main ways to see HP filming sites:
1) Studios Tour
2) tour of filming sites around London
3) filming locations at Oxford

if this is accurate, can 2 and 3 be done on the same tour easily? Or are they usually separate?

anything we’re missing?

Thanks in advance!

As I mentioned on your other thread (which has become sooooo long I can't keep up on the current plans) #1 by all means should be the Studio Tour. It is not like Universal et al in the States. Anyone who is at all a HP fan - it should be on their bucket list. Easily done from central London by train then dedicated shuttle bus.

As for your question - definitely not. You can spend a day in Oxford or you can spend the day in London - but not both.
I wouldn't do a 'tour' in Oxford - the two main sites (Christ Church and Bodleian) can easily be incorporated into a normal day trip to Oxford.

I also would not do a tour in London - the main sites are each convenient to multiple tube stations and can be fitted in with other sites in the same general areas.

Yes, it’s gotten long, which is why I pulled this question out and posted it separately, bc it’s not relevant to the rest of the itinerary.

Don't get me wrong -- ALL of them are truly worthwhile/worthy. You may need to prioritize because your time is pretty limited.

We now have 7.5 days in London and have reduced our list of things to do, so I THINK we should be okay:
- MLB game
- HP Studios Tour
- HP filming locations as we tour typical tourist sites in London
- Oxford
- Day trip to York
- Tower of London & Westminster Abbey

The HP studio tour is tons of fun! You will love it. Your list looks great. A bike tour is a great way to see Oxford: https://baintonbikes.com/
We also took a few walking tours which were fantastic. So many different themes: https://www.walks.com/
