loislane17 do you know the name of the Harry Potter special that will be aired on PBS? I checked the website for my area and did not see it. Maybe it is a subtitle for another show like NOVA or something else.

Wow, great post that deserves some 2005 refreshing. Anyone care to add some great Harry Potter touring info?

Hi, we took our an the time 8 year old daughter to London and had a great time. We did an Oxford University and Warwick Castle Tour (the castle was great for kids). Some of the Harry Potter movies were filmed at Oxford. We asked the quide to make sure and point them out, which he did, and my daughter was thrilled because she recognized them from the movie. We also saw the Rolling Stones while there and got tickets through ticketmaster UK. Have a great time.

Well if you going to be up in Edinburgh there are several places I found associated with the writing of the Harry Potter books - a couple restaurants where J.K. Rowling used to work on her writing when she was a struggling single mother. One is called the Elephant Bar on George IV Bridge, and the other is a Chinese restaurant in Nicolson Street - I forget the precise name - it's on the first floor (2nd floor to Americans), has a large white frontage and it's on a corner on the east side of the street. Back when JKR patronized it, it was called Nicolson's and was painted red rather than white.
