Harrod's Open on January 1st?
We will be in London at the end of December. Does anyone know if Harrod's is open on New Year's Day? It is not listed on their web site. Thanks...

Ten years ago we were in London at end Dec.-beginning January, and on Jan. 1st it was closed, as all other shops.

In the UK large stores are allowed to open by law on any day of the year except Easter Sunday & Christmas Day.

So there is a chance that Harrods (like other stores) will be open on NYD - why not e-mail them to find out

They are not open. And don't mix the UK up with England, Alan.

I just received confirmation that Harrod's will be open on January 1st from 10:00AM to 8:00PM. If anyone plans to be in London over the holidays, you now have an extra day to shop!

Pursuant to my earlier post, make certain they charge you in Pounds and not in Dollars!
