Happy Yorkshire Day

Just to wish everyone a Happy Yorkshire Day. The Yorkshire flags (white rose on a pale blue background) are waving all over the county.

Married as I am to a Lancastrian it would result in divorce if I were to celebrate with you.
Enjoy your Pontefract cakes but don't go onto Ilkla Moor baht 'at, given the recent weather in Yorkshire.

Heti, I'm only adopted. I virtually live on the Moor. It looks far worse in the North of the county. But our town (Otley) had a kid's festival yesterday in completely dry conditions.

I am adopted too (and also married to a Lancastrian) but we live very happily in North Yorkshire and never want to live anywhere else!
Happy Yorkshire Day!

My brother is Yorkshire by marriage, after studying at Hull uni, and now lives just outside York. Three of my cousins moved north and are hapily adopted Yorkies, two in that most Yorkshire of places Slaithwaite, and one in the equally pronounciation challenged Drighlington.
Have a good day!

Thanks Tuscan.

Just thinking. Ilkley had major heath fires in February and floods in July. Emergency climate or what?
