Posting for Lilly2016-HELP LHR on strike

Emergency

We are currently in London, had tickets to fly LHR to Shannon Ireland on Aug. 5 in AM.

To start the tour, which is non refundable. And The best part of the tour for us was the first day. We needed to be in Shannon by 12 noon on Aug 5 to start tour.

We were just informed by Ireland airline that LHR will possibly be on strike and flights will be canceled or delayed. I have never experienced this and have no info. Hotel has no info. Travel agent will not help… we don’t know what to do- meanwhile seats are selling fast.

We have to either keep our itinerary and hope for the best! No earlier flights available on Aug 5 and strike happening anyways.

Aug 4ththere is a 9 pm flight – roads are closed due to cycling event Sat. and Sunday.

Aug 4th we have the soccer tickets at Wembley. Game at 3 pm realistically probably out by 6 pm

Stadium 1 hour away from hotel in Bankside .. with road closure not sure if it’s feasible to come back get our stuff and make it to LHR.

Please help us guide us… I didn’t know who else to reach out to…. Thanks so much.

I received the same PM -- just quick. If they want to book a new flight a day early and simplify things -- They can cancel the last night(s) at the Bankside Hilton and move to one of the hotels next to Wembley (Hilton, Holiday Inn etc). They are is not much impacted by the bike rides (though huge crowd for the match). They can book a car service from a Wembley Hotel to LHR easy peasy.

Aer Lingus website says they will rebook at no extra fee or give a refund.
Wembley to LHR is close but there can be a lot of traffic after matches.

Yes -- big crowds -- but sooooooo many take trains and the tube to matches that car traffic would be easier than driving from the Hilton Bankside.
