Half Fare Card Question?

The Swiss Card covers just about everything at 50% off the list price.
So the answer is a slightly qualified YES.
I have used the Card more than once and found it to have a good return on investment because of the embedded trip from the border to Lauterbrunnen.
(Or from an airport of arrival.)
There are a few short cable lift trips that are not discounted 50%; these are usually 25% off. But the initial cost is so small that the price I paid was not much different from half price.
The big ones, Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn are 50% off as is the Grindelwald - First gondola ride.
We did the Jungfraujoch last summer, and paid 50% of the undiscounted price from Lauterbrunnen and return.

I'm sorry- i'm confused. The half fare card is different from the Swiss Card right? I didn't think the Swiss Card would be good because we're not making a round trip- see my orginal post above. The half price card is only 99chf.

The half fare care and the Swiss Card are essentially the same except for the arrival - destination component.
The difference in price is 76 chf.
So you can apply that difference to your first journey and your last, which you get for half price within Switzerland.
The first ticket is 35 chf (approximate cost) Zurich to Mürren and the last one to Simplon is about 30 chf.
So you actually spend about 65 francs and save a little money.
Were I not going all the way to Munich, I would not profit.
