Has anyone stayed near the Frankfurt Hahn airport (RyanAir flights)? It looks like Sohnen is the closest town. We're looking for a hotel that will shuttle us to the airport very early in the morning.

Also, has anyone taken the shuttle bus from the regular Frankfurt airport to the Hahn airport? If so, how long does it take, how often does it run, where do you board the bus and how much does it cost?

Thanks for any information or tips.

This wonderful little place is 2 miles from the airport - free to and from shuttle - and only 35 Euros double per night. Clean, tidy rooms with all you need, including a fridge with breakfast supplies (3 Euros/person), cheap sodas and beer. I stayed there over Thanksgiving and would do so again anyitme using that airport.

I took the airport bus into Mainz - 10 Euros, about 1:15 min., a little longer to Frankfurt, board right in front of the airport for either Mainz or Frankfurt. Very simple.

The "shuttle" to Frankfurt airport is the "airport bus" I mentioned. You'll find schedules and info here:

The buses stop at Frankfurt airport on the way to Frankfurt. The trip to Frankfurt airport should take about 1 hour, 30 minutes.
