GYM IN PARIS?

I will be visiting Paris for two weeks in October. Does anyone know of a gym or place to work out. I am staying in the Latin Quarter.

If you're concerned about exercise, I think you'll find you'll be doing PLENTY of walking in Paris. Nothing burns calories like walking up the spiral steps of Notre Dame, or making a metro connection at a major station!

If, on the other hand, you're talking about weights, I'm afraid I can't help. You are a far more disciplined and dedicated creature than I Hope someone can help you out. Have a great trip!

Even though I know you are correct about the amount of exercise one gets just walking Paris, my husband is still looking for a gym (yes, with weights), so if anyone knows of one....?

yes, I know of one, the Club Quartier Latin on rue Pontoise. They have daily walk-in rates.

This is a little ways away from the Latin Quarter, but there is a gym on Boulevard Raspail just south of the intersection with Blvd Montparnasse. It is on the right side of the street as you walk south. It is not far from the Vavin Metro sttion.
La Couple Restaurant is just around the corner on Montparnasse. It is also on the same side of the street as Hotel l'Aiglon.
It was in operation last year when I was there. One of the managers was out front trying to lure in customers.
I could see all types of modern equipment inside.
I trust it is still there.

I second the Club Quartier Latin idea. Was a member for a while as there's a fantastic, old fashioned pool.
Pool and gym can get crowded as it's popular with students.
Here's their web site link to the Gym page with prices and pics: http://www.clubquartierlatin.com/fitness/index.html
