I posted to the first topic I thought would be OK, but will rather do it here.

May I, from Pretoria, South Africa, sympathize with everyone in the United States - we are shocked, and angry, with all of you. My girl of 14 keeps on crying every time she sees something about the tragedy on TV. We lit candles in South Africa yesterday - to show solidarity with you - and we keep on praying for the entire nation. We are devastated - as I believe 99% of the world is.

You are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.

Several days since this horrific tragedy and I'm still stunned by what's happened. It shatters your sense of security & is so incomprehensible to me.

I'm located in different part of country, but a coworker in New Jersey may have lost his wife --- she worked in the south tower of the WTC Bldg; called her husband John after the north tower was struck and then said she had to go & evacuate from her building. He's not heard from her since.

I watch the news & see the stories of family & friends desperately searching for loved ones, hoping they were able to get out alive & may be unidentified in one of the area hospitals. With each passing hour, it appears less likely that my coworker & friend John's wife will be found. This is all so heart rending.

Perhaps this may remind us of the kindness shown and that we still need it.
