What a lovely thread! I too am new to the forum (and addicted, at that), and though I will never have the knowledge of Elvira and Elaine (amongst others) and am too shy to partake in the witty repartee, I would like to thank all of you for your many suggestions (I've booked all the hotels for our next trip based on Fodorites' reviews) and the fun you bring with some of the not-so-travel-oriented threads. May you all have a happy and warm holiday season. And I'm looking forward to many reports of holiday travel from those who are having adventures right now.

Neal,
I enjoyed reading this thread, but was even more surprised when I read the two threads someone topped from your postings the last two years., also, Greetings of the Season.
They were interesting to read also!
Our local paper's editor publishes something along the same lines , every holiday season, for the community.Your thread reminded me of it.

To all Fodorites,( even you cranky ones)
have a safe ,fun holiday season, and Happy New Year!
nancy
For X,
TY,TY,TY

Ahh.. so many "Seasons Greetings" threads, it hard to know which one to respond to. I used to think of this site as a "community," but lately, I've come to think of all of you as "family."
I have come to think of Fodors.com as the gift that keeps on giving: when you're home, you still have, or can aquire a perspective of travelling and when you're travelling, you can click onto home and everyone is right there.

I will refrain from mentioning names here, of all the people who make this place what it is, because everyone contributes, either silently or vocally, with real names or not. It makes me happy. It makes me smile. And at the risk of sounding maudlin..."I Love You All."

Dr. Betty

Just to add my own greetings as well. I haven't been around the board as much lately, as my life has gotten just a little too busy lately. Hope to find more time for travel and this site during the new year. Happy holidays and merry travels to all.

I wanted to add my greetings to this thread and to wish each one of you the very best for this festive season.

Whatever faith, race, nationality you are, wherever you are in this world, I hope 2001 brings you happiness, love and more opportunities to travel!!

I always enjoy reading this board, squirreling away information, responding with help where I can, and feeling the gamut of emotions in response to some of the debates that tumble from one opinion to another.

When I havent had a chance to log in for a while I miss you all and when I have I always leave feeling happier for having "met up" again with my Fodor's friends.

Goodness doesnt this time of year make a person sentimental..!!

See you soon
Take Care

Kavey
