Greek Ferries - Multiple trip query

Hi,

I'm heading over to see some of the Cyclades with my partner over the course of 10 days or so. I'm meeting her on santorini, though we are going to see Crete, Naxos, Mykonos and get up to Athens as well. Is there any particular island hopping ticket that would offer a discount for multiple trips?

Secondly, I appear to be struggling to find a ferry from Ios to Thira (Santorini) on 30 June. Would they be booked out, or is it not a popular route?

Thankyou in advance for any ideas

You can buy all your tickets at once if you want to stick to a strict schedule but all sales are point-to-point only, no multiple destination tickets are sold.

There are two late-evening departures for Ios>Santorini on June 30 and two late-morning departures are pending.

Halcyon, this is your first trip to Greece, right?
(1) You are not going to see FOUR Islands plus Athens in 10 days unless you have a Flying Carpet or can Walk on Water and I think you are neither Sinbad nor Jesus.
(2) There are no discounts for multiple trips... they may all be on different ferry lines.
(3) About your IOS trouble what ferry website are you looking at? I just went to gtp. gr, and on the first page I put IOS in the Departure slot and ATI (Santorini) in the Destination, and put in "6" as the month and left the day at ANY ... and VOILA! There is a High SPeed at 1040 every day, and and a Flying Cat at 11:10 on May 30.

IF you do want ideas, my idea (based on 8 extensive trips) is that TWO Islands and Athens in 10 days is about the limit.

Halcyon,
I would suggest starting in Mykonos and working your way down to Crete(Heraklion) or the opposite way. Mykonos-Naxos-Ios-Santorini-Heraklion.
Starting your way from Santorini-Ios-.....Mykonos puts you in for a longer ride to Crete and more money than the suggested way.
Also you can save a night by taking the overnight Heraklion to Pireaus(Athens)and getting a sleeping cabin.
You can certainly do this in a carefree way of island hopping but you can really only see the centre not the full island in one day and thus are stuck in the harbour area. My sister did this years ago but added Paros in there as well. Have fun!
