Sophy, I disagree that no one goes in October. Most hotels are full. I have spoken to several couples that are going in October.I live a warm area and prefer to go when is is mot so hot and less crowded with tourists..

Gary:

(You probably already saw this - but here it is again).

Our itinerary is as follows:
10-12 Oct: 3 nights Rhodes
13-15 Oct: 3 nights Santorini
16-17 Oct: 2 nights Mykonos
18-21 Oct: 3 nights Athens

I think October is a wonderful time to go!

I grew up in greece & agree that tourism definitely declines in October- peak times are june to late September (Greeks return home during these months). Greece may still be warm in Oct- it'll be cheaper- less people- & easier to get reservations. My fav month though is still August!

I would like point out that in this particular October, countrywide mayoral elections are set to take place on two consecutive weekends (namely October 13th & 20th). I'm afraid that public life will be a bit slow on or about those days and that may cause some trouble to visitors.
