aguate Reading more about Easter in Romania, it's kind of hard to know what to expect regarding tourist services. I've read that most Romanians give up meat and dairy for 40 days before Easter, and that most restaurants are closed the three days of Easter. If the Brasov area is packed with tourists, it's kind of hard to believe all those restaurants will be closed, but I suppose it is possible.

There will be some interruptions in tourist services on Easter Sunday (some restaurants, nearly all shops and supermarkets, suburban and intercity bus transport), other than that not much change.

Most Romanians do eat meat and dairy in the 40 days before Easter, there aren't any changes in restaurants menus or food availability in supermarkets. I guess what you've read assumes that since most Romanians are Orthodox Christians all of them actually observe related customs, like lents; that's not the case.

Many restaurants are closed on Easter Sunday or only open in the evening. In tourist areas like Brasov this is less valid but you still should expect some places being closed, especially in the first part of the day. Supermarkets will be closed that day, you might need to find 24/7 small stores.

On the other days of Easter services will return to normal: on Easter Monday most places will be open and Easter Tuesday will be practically a regular day.
