Great private tour guide in London

I went to London with the Eurostar for 4 days and organized a fantastic tour guide for two half day tours. I had done quite a few tours in Paris and decided to try London as well.

Here is her website - www.essentiallylondon.com

ALL the restaurants she recommended where great value and exceptional cuisine. The two tours we did with her was the Hampstead Heath historical walk and the Tea Tasting Tour.

Worth every penny!

Uh, Tpax -- what's your cut of her revenue from this ad?

Why so suspicious? A quick click on TPaxe's name shows a long list of posts both asking for recommendations and giving them for guides and restaurants. Hard to imagine all these recommendations come with a commission.

My thought at first too, Russ. But if you check, you'll see that TPaxe has been around for quite a while and this is far from his/her only post. I think he/she is just sharing a good experience with us.

I don't know. A recommendation of a tour guide in response to a question does not raise suspicion. A positive comment on a tour guide as part of a trip report does not raise suspicion. An unsolicited, out-of-the-blue testimonial (or, equally, a slam) should raise suspicion.

Doesn't raise my suspicions when there are several such posts by the same person, both asking for guides and restaurants and recommending them. You don't seriously think the same poster is getting commissions from all the people he or she posts to recommend, do you?

Hi again,

Sorry to have caused suspicion BigRuss, but thank you for all the support from the other posts. I'm going to Istanbul next month and I think I have a terrific guide lined up. Too scared to post about her when I get back!

Please do, TPaxe. After all, that's what this board is all about!
