Great Bed of Ware

My husband wants to see the Great Bed of Ware at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

I visited the museum last September but I did not see it, although I did a walkthrough of Level 0 where the musical instruments and furniture are located.

Does anyone know where the bed is located?

I have a map of the V/A, but no mention of the bed.

Can't miss it -- but its not on the Ground Floor

The Great Bed of Ware - Victoria and Albert Museum

If you can't find the gallery using the V&A floor map -- just ask at the info desk. easy peasy.

Thanks, OR! That is Level 2, Britain 1500-1760.

Yes, would ask if we weren't able to find it.

You are welcome John.

The V&A is like an IKEA store.

One wanders around trying to find an item, gets hopelessly lost and eventually falls into a weeping inconsolable heap when one passes the same effing place three times!

I have never managed to figure out the map, and I go there at least twice a year.

They DO have an App, but it does not get great reviews. Maybe your husband can test it out for us.

Do buy the book!

My sister was distraught because she can't make it to London this year, so I bought her the book and she was delighted with it.

Please get there for at the opening time as it does get uncomfortably full. The entrance is at the side, not the main entrance. If you face the main entrance, it is a few yards down the street to the left.

Actually, Ger, I have to buy several books for friends. I do not relish carrying all the loot on the tube to Heathrow.
