Grand European Tour to Turkey

While've traveled a lot in the past 30 years, we've never participated in a tour group. But we think we'd rather not be on our own in Turkey. A friend has suggested a Grand European Tour to Turkey for next October or early November. It's a good price and the itinerary looks good. BUT I need to know if anyone has had a wonderful or terrible experience with GET. Any recommendations for tour operators better than GET?
Thanks,
nk

I don't know GET tours (do you mean GCT - Grand Circle Travel?). If not, Grand Circle has a trips to Turkey but I have just signed up for a Pacha Tour (took one 10 yrs ago) and am really looking forward to it. The price is very reasonable (it's the Super Value one - took the St Paul one before). They do have a Crossroads of Turkey which looks fabulous but more than I can afford.

Anyhow, check out Pachatours.com and see if they can accommodate you. My tour guide 10 yrs ago was great.

Any questions, e-mail me at [email protected] Nancy

My daughters and I took a trip to Italy last year with Get tours and it was fine. Also have traveled with Grand Circle 15 times and also satisfactory. Also have liked Trafalgar. Most on this wetsite do not care for group tours as they prefer to do their own planning which is great. However I like the security of the tours, among other things. Have a great trip. Halfpint

Be sure to check out InSight Travel as they have wonderful smaller group tour travels within Turkey. They come highly recommended both here on this forum and others as well. Here is their web-site http://www.tour-turkey.com/index.htm

I went on a Grand European Tour to Vienna, Salzburg, Prague, and Budapest and it was wonderful. The guide was great, hotels were well-located, and the itinerary was excellent. My parents have also taken one of their trips and enjoyed it very much too. I would travel with them again.
