It would be best if you posted a link to your other post.
But it appears that you're complaining about cancelling an upcoming cruise and not being refunded. I'm not sure if you paid just for the deposit, but as others advised, the deposit is non-refundable. Or did you pay for most of the cruise cost already? Trip cancellation insurance would usually cover that. You said the agent didn't mention any cancellation penalty to you when you booked. That is careless and you might be able to use that as an excuse with the cruise coumpany, but it may not work. It's also the clients' responsibility to read in detail about these fine print items.

I have replied to some of the questions here, on the Cruise Forum.
Bigal - The GCT agent you talked to may have mentioned the refund/cancellation policy, but the one I talked to did not. Since the other river barge companies I looked into were already booked for the week we wanted to travel, I figured I better book a reservation (especailly since I thought I had until Jan. to cancel)on the GCT or we may not get on anything for that week. Also, because there was no space on the other cruises an agent didn't get to the point of discussing cancelation policies.
I realize hotels, airlines, etc. do have cancelation policies. However, I thought I had until Jan. to cancel so the cancelation policy was not a concern at the time I booked. By the time Jan. arrived, I would have received the brochures from GCT and would have then known about their policy.

Always read the fine print BEFORE booking a trip. GCT terms are available on their website.

I've also found that most companies will send you a copy of their terms and conditions, if you just ask. This includes travel insurance companies.
