Granada-Seville Train Cancelled?!!?
Hi all. I am desparate. As I was planning my trip to Spain I had decided upon travelling by train from Granada to Seville. I contacted the Renfe website - as recommended by everyone - and was told that tickets for that route could only be purchased 15 days in advance. Here I am, now only 13 days left before my trip, and it appears as though there is no longer any train service between these two cities!! I tried emailing Renfe, but two days later and still no response. Does anyone know if there is still a train and how can i find a schedule and purchase tickets?? This is the last piece of my trip (all other train tickets, hotels, flights etc are already purchased)so I can't change my itinerary now. PLEASE HELP!!

I'll do some date comparisons on their site but as of about a week or two back they had not entered the schedule beyong the middle of December.
There's no way they'll cancel that route completely.
Other than construction (madrid-Toledo) there is very little change from year to year.
I'll be back after doing some date experimenting.

There must be something wrong with the schedule as several of the Seville routes don't appear.
Fear not. If in the unlikely event that there is no train service, you can always take the bus. It may even be more convenient.

Myer - Thanks for the info. I heard from renfe this morning, but only to tell me my question has been referred to the regional division and will be answered "soon". I am going to start looking into the bus option. I will be arriving in Spain on the 27th and need this particular ticket on the 29th - do you think I can wait until I arrive or should I try and figure something out now? Thanks again for "calming me down"!!

There are trains on 29th Dec directly from Granada to Seville with following times:
Granada Seville
8:20 AM 11:39AM
11:23 AM 02:39PM
04:40PM 09:19PM
09:05PM 00:25AM
price 17 euro one way
only tourist class
I got this information directly checking with Renfe today.
Their internet site does not have this information for the moment.
Nothing is sure, but I do not think you will have any problems buying a ticket in any of these trains upon your arrival in Spain on the 27th Dec.
Have fun

Recommended by almost everybody, I should say, as I for my part recommend the Thomas Cook European Timetable, which may be in the reference library of a city near you. Table 672 has your trains, which in the main tally with car s list.
Granada 0820 Seville 1139
Granada 1123 Seville 1439
Granada 1635 Seville 2019
Granada 2100 Seville 0025
