Granada day trip?
We'll be in Spain in the Spring and are planning on Staying in Madrid and Seville for a half a week each.
We hope to make it to Granada to see the Alhambra, which also seems recommended to view at night.
Is it possible to do this as a day trip from Seville? I know there is an early train that leave seville at 7 and arrives around 10 and a return leaving at about 9 p.m. but the other trains don't seem to feasible.
I'd rather not have to pack our bags and change hotels more than the two times we're already expecting.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you can definately do Granada in a day trip. Go for it! It's nice, but worth changing hotels for. Another piece of advice- make sure you are going to be in Sevilla during the Feria. The feria is usually in mid April. Do your research to make sure the dates match up because the feria is incredible and a must-see! In fact, I've been all over Europe and my best cultural experience was the Feria in Sevilla.

Make sure you book way ahead since you'll only have a few hours in the middle of the day. You get into Granada at 10:05 (unless the new timetables will be different), and you leave at 17:40. It's quite a hike, too.

Thanks again for the help. Would have said so earlier, but unfortunately we're postponing the trip until October. So definately won't be there for the Feria.
We're hoping to stay a night or two in Granada now and fly out of seville or Granada instead of taking the time to make it back to madrid.
Someone else ("travel tyrant" or somesuch), posted their itinerary and stayed in a small hotel right next to the Alhambra. Is this recommended, or should we stay closer to the city center?
Do we want a night tour of Alhambra or just try to enjoy the night view of it from outside after a regular day tour?

I found a night visit of the Alhambra quite magical, and if you are going to be in Granada overnight, then by all means stay in one of the hotels near or within the Alhambra grounds. One is the Hotel America, and the other is, I think, the Hotel Guadalupe.
