Good restaurant near CDG airport?

Deos anyone have recommendations for a good hotel near Charles de Gaulle airport? We don't want to be stuck eating at a hotel! Something within not-too-far taxi distance would be good.

Hi Underhill:

I haven't tried it, but friends say it is good:

Auberge des Saints Pères
212, avenue de Nonneville
93600 Aulnay-sous-Bois
Tél : 01.48.66.62.11

Their website: www.auberge-des-saints-peres.com

It looks like it allows you to reserve on line which would be nice.

Would you consider hopping the RER to Paris and eating there if you have enough time?

Our current plan is to take the RER into Paris after we arrive at CDG and dump our luggage at the hotel. We want to do (another)cruise on the Seine and then hang out in a café for a while. If we stay for diner, it's going to make for a long day--probably better to go back to the hotel, rest up and change, and then go out to dinner somewhere that won't require a half-hour train ride back to CDG. Otherwise we'd eat at Au Petit Marguery or Le Bistro de Breteuil. Until I have a knee replacement I can't get around all that well; so taxis will be the way to go.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm off to look up the web site and check out the menu.

Where are you "dumping your luggage". It looks like in Paris. This is a one day affair? I don't think I understand--but I would just eat in Paris and (I guess) go back to your airport hotel.

We'll be leaving our luggage at our CDG hotel, not staying in Paris. Thus the problem.

Now I see there is another way to read the "itinerary". I would still eat in Paris. Just seems easier. Why are you staying at CDG--just one night?

We fly out the next day and don't want to be out late, hence the request for restaurants near the airport.

I have stayed several times at the Courtyards by Marriott for my last night in France, arriving by train and skipping Paris altogether. Their restaurant is very nice. Of course not a Michelin-starred!, but was pretty good just the same. It suited me, especially after eating my way through other parts of France for 2 weeks previously.
