Good reads

We are about to embark on a family trip to Italy and are very excited. After reading the threads on reads for Venice, can people recommend good reads for Italy in general? Any thoughts about reads for middle schoolers?
Thanks in advance

Barbara Grizzuti-Harrison's Italian Days is a wonderful book. Probably a little advanced for middle schoolers.

Hi estern,

During our stay in Italy, we purchased "Everyday Life In The Renaissance" by Antony Mason.

They do have a website, and perhaps you could buy it online:
www.mcraebooks.com

It would be perfect for middle schoolers, but in all honesty, you would probably enjoy it equally (we did, ha).

Have fun in Italy, it is so wonderful, Tiff

p.s. Estern, I should also add that the book is part of the "Uncovering History" series, if that helps.
