Good day hiking ideas near Interlaken, Switzerland?
Does anyone have any good suggestions for scenic day hikes around the Interlaken area of Switzerland? Also, any suggestions for how to get to trailheads without a rental car (e.g.- outfitters, guide services, etc.)?

To begin with, walk the beautiful promenande around the north shore of the River Aare. It will also take you to Interlaken-Ost station (Interlaken East). You can continue east if you want a longer walk. more of a hike, along shores of Lake Thun.
Interlaken Ost has frequent service to alpine railheads in Wengen, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. Cable cars can take you to the village of Murren, and a rail system ocan get you to the top at Jungfraujoch (which was constantly socked in when we were last there in '09).Trails are clearly marked at all of the aformentioned towns.

One of easy hikes is from Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg, you will need to get to Wengen on the train from Interlaken Ost then the cable car from Wengen to Mannlichen the walk is signposted from there and you could take the train back to Wengen or down to Grindelwald. Ask in the Interlaken tourist office for a hiking map and you will have plenty of options

So many choices and you don't need a guide or an outfitter. All trails are well signed with destinations, distance in time and direction pointers.
An example: Eiger Trail.
Take the train from Interlaken Ost to Eigergletsher then hike to Alpiglen (all downhill) catch the train into Grindewald then the train back to Interlaken.
Or you can hike all the way to Gridewald where the entire round trip should take up most of the day with about 3-4 hours of actual hiking depending how fast you move. But take your time and enjoy the views! This hike goes right under the famous Eiger North face and has a great view of Wetterhorn and Grindewald down in the valley.

I see from your Zurich post you are very adventurous. Check this out. It's on my list of things I will splurge on next visit to Lauterbrunnen.

Years ago, we did the walk from Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidigg - we loved it - after all, we were walking from town to town in the Alps! - but we also love to hike, and this was a walk, not a hike.
