Yes, you can negotiate the price of the gondola ride but when we were there in April it was our last night in Venice and it began to rain. So there we were huddled under an umbrella and DH paid dearly for the ride with a nice big tip. I bought a gold gondola charm at a shop near Rialto bridge and it actually cost less than the gondola ride.
