Giverny to Mont St Michel by Train?

Between stays in Paris and Brittany, I'd like to stay overnight in Giverny, and then overnight in Mont St Michel. As I do not drive, can anyone tell me if I can get to Giverny to Mont St Michel by bus and/or train?

ps- I'll also need to get from Mont St Michel to Dinan. Is that easily do-able?

From Giverny (the train station would be Vernon) you could return to Paris and then take the TGV to Rennes, where you can pick up a direct bus to Mont St-Michel. I can't help you with the portion of your trip going on to Dinan, but I expect someone will know about train/bus connections.

For timetables go to www.bahn.de and click on the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner for English. If you enter Vernon as your departure point and Mont St Michel as your arrival point, you will be given the route suggested by Underhill. Click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points.

You have two route choices for Mont St Michel-Dinan. Enter them separately at bahn.de.

1. Mont St Michel-Dinan.

2. Pontorson-Dinan. (You would need to take a local bus from Mont St Michel to Pontorson. It doesn't show on the DB timetables.)

You'll see that your travel times for either route are quite limited.

You're welcome. Have a wonderful time--both Giverny and Mont St-Michel are special places.
