Giverny mid March ¿worth while?

I wonder if Giverny in mid March is worth the trip. Any experience will be appreciated, as well as means of getting there, specially bytrain. Thanks.

From what I understand, Giverny is not open until April.

I understand Monet's house/museum doesn't open until April. But is it worthwhile to go to Giverny in late March anyway? what's there to do at that time of year?

BobMoss: Welcome to Fodors. Just a hint using the forums -- it is normally better to start your own new thread instead of tacking on to one from 11 years ago.

But IMO, no, visiting Giverny before the gardens/museum is open really isn't that worthwhile.

Nothing there until Spring..Not even a quaint village to see and it is off the beaten track..I wouldn't do it.
