Getting from Venice to Nice

Is it better to go from Venice to Nice by train or by plane? It's a long journey by train and we really don't want to give up a whole day traveling. (We are actually starting from a small town called Conegliano an hour outside of Venice). Have never been on the eurail.

EasyJet has daily early morning non-stop flights, and 3 or 4 days a week afternoon flights.

Non-stop Venice to Nice on EasyJet for 30 euros. versus an all day train ride with multiple connections at a much higher pricce.... it's a no brainer to me....

Take a train ride along the coast from Nice to somewhere if you want to experience riding in a train. (eurail is a made up name referring to some kind of rail pass - there is no such actual rail system or train).

There may also be flights from Treviso airport which is a RyanAir hub.

Although I'm a great fan of trains ordinarily, I agree with J62 here and would fly this route.

BTW if you don't know about it, check out the rome2rio website.

Thank you both! Yes there is a direct flight at 7am on May 29 we can take for $110 on EasyJet. Looks like RyanAir does not fly into Nice.
I think we will need to do the same thing (fly instead of train) to get from Nice to Barcelona. How far in advance do you need to get to the airport for such flights??
Thanks!

Nice to Barcelona is served by EasyJet and Vueling so more options.

I've never flown out of Venice, or on EasyJet so I don't know their procedures, or what the crowds at checkin or security may be like. Hopefully others can give you first hand advice.
At some airports with early departures there can be a big morning rush crowd depending on when the airport security opens. I'd probably stay closer to the airport the night before so you had an easy go if it to catch the 7am flight and didn't have to deal with car return, or a long drive, but you know your own travel style best.
