It's sad, buy you'll find that far too many of these "travel writers" gleam their information from other sources rater than offer firsthand experience.

The savings associated with using something like a Schwab account, if you are an infrequent traveler, are minimum at best.

Actually, with the Schwab One Visa the savings are more than minimal considering that the 3% currency conversion fee is not that substantial. The card has no annual fee and gives 2% cash back on all charges.
We've used it for about 6 months now and have about $1000 in our account which we will use toward airline tickets.
