Get it off your chest here

Just thought of another "get it off your chest here" thread: for Republicans addicted to epithets villifying any and all Democrats, but especially Clintons and Gores. The whole election affair has taken on all the characteristics of a World Wrestling Federation challenge, but the Republicans are definitely outgunning the Dems for the sheer gusto of their hatred. Are these maybe some of the same people? Naw, too big a coincidence.

I love this thread!!! we have a daughter and she is now 21. she has travelled with us all over the world and been to 'fancy' restaurants from the time she was under one year old and we NEVER had problems because of the type of disposition that SHE has. I am not saying that we are the BEST parents or that we brought her up properly. I think that most people DO try to discipline their children but lets face it...no two children are the same. I have learnt to 'turn off' to screams, tempers etc. but the absolutely worse thing for me is to have an unruly child kick the back of my seat on an aeroplane and to have the parents totally disregard my efforts to have the child desist from that unruly behavior. Parents please note.!!!!!

Looks like this thread is becoming more about raising childeren than about traveling with them. In which case, those of you who don't have them, stay out of it! About raising kids like they did in the 60s, in case you hadn't notice, its a new age out there.

It is easy to post incidents about misbehaving children, but isn't that true for drunks, bad drivers, loud people, impolite staff, bad food...........

Grow up you crybabies.

I agree that small children should be banned from all European travel, because they detract from my travel experience. Old people, too. Can you believe how long they take to get down the jetway? Cripples, too. Don't you hate waiting for their wheelchairs to get folded up? Don't care much for Jews or blacks, either. Let's ban them while we're at it.

Shouldn't also Europeans be banned taking their children outside their houses while American tourists are visiting ? (and those should be allowed into Europe only after showing a signed affidavit certifying they all behaved perfectly when they were children, that their parents were able to control at all time, or that they were born as adult and never ever where children themselves).

Zeus, nice bit of sarcasm there, and so good at getting people up in arms. I've followed this thread for a while, and it's pretty interesting, everytime someone puts infant or children next to the word travel.. all "you know what" breaks loose. I am not particularly bothered by children while travelling, if the parents seem responsible, and considerate, why should I be upset? I mean lets face it, there are grand parents who want to see grandchildren and they have to get there somehow. I also think that bringing older kids to some children appropriate venues overseas can be an enriching experience for kids and parents... I do question parents who take small babies to museums or theatre, the potential for disruption is high and the rewards for the infant anyway, don't seem worth it to me. A cautionary note though, my friends just got back from taking their baby to Ireland to visit the relatives and had to come home and place there baby in the emergency room, poor thing caught some kind of horrible pneumonia, they can't say for sure that the trip caused it, but the doctor did say that, strange food, water, temperature, schedules etc can interfere with an infants immune system. I think if I were a parent I would take my children to see relatives etc, leave them out of museums and theatres, and only travel overseas if it was a necessity, until they were older and could appreciate it more, but thats just myself, everyone is different.
