Germany proof of vaccination
Like others in this forum, we are still trying to decide whether to fly to Berlin next week. We were also supposed to go to Dresden, but now that's out. I have read that the new 2G (or 2g+?) rule is that you must present a digital passport--a E.U. QR code, to ride transport, etc. We have our CDC cards and a U.S. QR code, but that is supposedly not transferrable. Anybody have any insights? And, if we do decide to go, it will be 10 days in Berlin, with lots of museums--is that too much at this time of year? Thanks.

We too, are leaving for Germany in a week (we think).
We have a digital COVID Certificate that we obtained in Switzerland in October - we just went to a pharmacy, presented our CDC cards and passports, paid 30 chf each and were provided one, which was a godsend during our month long stay. It's good throughout the EU, so we shouldn't need another, but I've earmarked this info just the same, which you might be able to utilize.
To obtain the German digital certificate with QR code and find a pharmacist who can do this: Search on https://www.mein-apothekenmanager.de/ ,
(a) enter your address, and then
(b) in the dropdown menu for Serviceleistungen , choose "COVID-19 Zertifikat", and then Search.
Certificate aside, I've read many accounts of people traveling in Germany who have had no issue showing their US CDC cards. If you haven't already, I'd suggest purchasing a plastic cover that will protect your card - they're available on Amazon.
