Germany-hotel in February

We are taking a long weekend in Germany in February and looking for somewhere to stay. We are flying into and out of Stuttgart and we've booked one night in Hotel Benz in Gengenbach. After that we hoped to stay on lake Constanz but the two hotels I've approached after recommendations here are both closed. They are the Gasthof zum Baren and the Drei Stube. Can anyone suggest anywhere else.
Thank you and a happy New Year!

If you are interested in Baden-Baden, the Hotel am Markt, Markplatz 18, tel. 07221 22747---the Bratwurst-glockel Hotel, tel 07221 90610---or more up-scale, the Hotel Europaischer Hof, Kaiserallee 2---The Hotel Badischer Hof, Langestrasse 47.

Or in Konstanz, the Inselhotel (luxury), (Auf der Insel 1)---the Hotel Barbarossa, (Moderate), Obermarkt 8---Hotel Deutsches Haus, (Moderate), Markstatte 15---Hotel Seeblick, (Moderate), Neuhausstrasse 14). Good luck.

Lindau is a great location on the north shore of the lake, near the eastern end. It's on a peninsula jutting out into the lake and is a very pleasant town. You might try the Hotel Lindauer Hof to see if they will be open. It's in a good location, right on the lake in the middle of town and next to the Rathaus. Good luck.

Thank you both. Do you have any first hand experience of any of these hotels?

I have stayed several times at the Europaischer Hof in Baden-Baden. Excellent accomodations and location.

Karen Brown's book on Germany Inns and Itineraries will have some good small hotel suggestions for the Constance/Bodensee area. Lindau is a good town. Go to the book store and take a peak at her book for her suggestion for this town. They have always worked for us.

The Stuttgart International is near the airport. Very nice, but expensive.
