Germany - church built in a mountain?

Hoping I can get some quick help, here. I was just told that there is a church built into the side of a mountain - somewhere between Kaiserslautern and Trier. There is supposed to be a great restaurant there, as well. I'm leaving tomorrow for this area and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this.

Thanks!

There's a church built into a mountain in Idar-Oberstein. Can't help you with the restaurant, though, as it's been decades since I was there.

Well - we went. Idar-Oberstein was just over an hour's drive from our hotel in Kaiserslautern. Nice drive with pretty views. We'd gotten directions from the hotel, but barely needed them because the roads are so well marked.

If you like rocks, this is a place to see. If not, it's just quaint. We got there a little too early and were ready to leave a little too soon to bother having dinner there.
