I google or bing everything but trust me many don't and they still are confused if they do. That is why they ask and after all this is a travel forum for questions and answers.>
I agree with the gist of your remarks here - sometimes I feel like telling someone 'Google is your friend' to a question so simple that a simple google would answer it but refrain from it and Google it myself - for my own curiosity.
But let's not throw the baby out with the bath water - the answer greg gave was way way more than most would, including practically every possibility there was for discounted tickets and passes and types of trains.
